NORTHUMBERLAND, PA — The Central Susquehanna Riverboat Society (CSRS), a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to building and operating a paddlewheel riverboat on Lake Augusta, is seeking dynamic, community-minded leaders to serve on its Board of Directors. This is a call to proven movers and shakers—individuals who bring influence, expertise, and a passion for creating meaningful change and making things happen. Board members play a critical role in shaping the organization’s strategic direction, strengthening community impact, and ensuring long-term sustainability. Ideal candidates are leaders who are eager to lend their voice, talents, networks, and experience to advance CSRS to the next stage. “We’re at an exciting moment of growth,” said Angela Troutman, CSRS Vice President. “We’re looking for bold thinkers and collaborative leaders who want to roll up their sleeves and help guide our organization to its next level.” Troutman added, “Previous board experience is helpful but not required. A strong commitment to our mission and the willingness to actively participate are essential.”
CSRS welcomes candidates from diverse backgrounds and is particularly interested in individuals with experience in executive leadership or entrepreneurship, finance, fundraising and philanthropy, marketing, communications and public relations, as well as community engagement and advocacy. Board members are expected to attend regular board meetings on the third Tuesday of each month, serve on at least one committee (with meetings as needed), act as ambassadors for the organization, and support fundraising and strategic initiatives.
This is a volunteer position offering a unique opportunity to make a lasting difference and help shape the future of our organization and our community. Interested individuals are invited to submit a brief letter of interest and résumé to centralsusquehannariverboat@gmail.com by January 30th.
