DESCRIPTION:RAISE THE REGION\, a movement of generosity\, is a powerful\, 30- hour online campaign designed to raise much needed funds for area nonprofits. This initiative highlights participating organizations whose missions and work address the growing needs of North Central Pennsylvania and help create and empower vital and thriving communities. Organized by the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania in 2013\, Raise the Region has since raised 19million dollars for participating nonprofits\, fostering individual giving through a targeted\, unified effort.\nFCFP is partnering in 2025 with Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships whose generous support includes boosting donations and cash prizes\, inspiring charitable contributions that demonstrate the powerful impact of investing locally. \nNonprofits foster civic engagement\, drive economic growth and strengthen the fabric of our communities. This year the Susquehanna Central Riverboat Society is participating in the 2025 Raise the Region campaign. Our Riverboat Project will have a big impact\, bringing people to the river to engage in a variety of cruises featuring music\, food\, education\, history\, river lore and just plain fun! Our Riverboat Project also has big bills! We are building our boat from scratch and have gotten started with a generous grant. However\, we must look to you for your financial support to help us Float our Boat. We know it will take a village to reach our goals. \nPlease join with others March 12 and 13 and participate! SUMMARY:2nd Annual Riverboat Rally
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our 2nd Annual Riverboat Rally fundraising event on Saturday\, February 8\, 2025\, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Sunbury Social Club located on Packer Island\, Sunbury\, PA.\n\nWe will start the event with exciting updates on our riverboat project and river stories by historian John Moore. Entertainment will begin at 1:30pm with the Jolly Tars\, singing sailor folk songs with a sea-chanty rhythm. The headliner of the event is folk singer and local legend Van Wagner. Van will share his original music about life on the Susquehanna.\n\nWe will have raffles and light refreshments will be served along with a cash bar.\n\nThe admission fee is $20 in advance when purchased by Feb. 5.
