CSRS board members floated the idea of a riverboat base at Shikellamy State Park Marina to state officials for years, but with other marina projects taking priority and talks slowing, board members turned their attention to other possible dock sites on Lake Augusta. The idea of a home base on Northumberland Borough land at the west end of Pineknotter Park was well received by borough officials. In November 2023 board members and volunteers convened on the site to discuss the layout and kick off the design process with the site engineer.
